UNIT HISTORY
The 8th
Custodial Company now Military Police Company, 8ID,PA was organized pursuant to
GO Nr 314 HPA dtd 30
March 1986 during the Incumbency of COL ISAGANI
DELOS SANTOS the Brigade Commander of the 8th Infantry Brigade (Separate) Philippine
Army Stationed at Camp Santol, San Miguel Leyte. In its days MP was
manned by few selected NCO’s and the
first Commanding Officer was CPT
MACACUNAL B SIDIC (INF) PA.
From Camp Santol, San Miguel, Leyte where the early
Headquarters was later transferred to its present location at Camp Lukban, Catbalogan
City, Samar sometimes on October 1987. It was then the
strength of the unit increased in order to cope up
with its mission, duties and functions until such time the brigade was elevated
into a Division on August 1988.
MISSION
To
maintain good order and discipline within the military establishment and to
enforce laws, regulations and orders to accomplish the unit mission.
