HISTORY OF CAMP LUKBAN
STATION HOSPITAL
This
unit started as a Medical Dispensary of the Eastern Command, AFP when it was
activated on 01 January 1981 catering to
all Military & Police
Personnel, their
Dependents & Authorized
Civilians in the AOR of
EASCOM.
Young as
it is, it has
undergone several stages of evolution.
First, on 19 February 1981, it established
a ten (10)-Bed Military Extension Ward of the Samar Provincial
Hospital thru a Memorandum
of Agreement signed by the
Ministry of Health as represented
by the region VIII Health Director, the Hospital Chief & the Armed
Forces of the Philippines represented
by the Commanding General
of EASCOM.
This was then manned by two (2) Medical Offrs two (2)
Male Nurses &
One (1) Medical Administrative Corps Officer.
Then
a twenty-five (25)-Bed
Hospital was activated as
a unit per AFP TO & E Nr 8560 series
01 June 1981 and assigned to RUC 8 effective 09 June 1983 pur to sec 1, GO# 569 GHQ dtd 20 June 1983.
On 16 Sept 1986 pur to sec 1, GO# 620 GHQ AFP, RUC8 Station Hospital was upgraded from
twenty five (25)-to fifty (50)-bed capacity eff 01 June 1986.
